Gnarabup Beach
Gnarabup Beach is very popular because it is the only safe swimming beach on that part of the Margaret River coastline. The other beaches nearby often have very big waves that are good for surfing but dangerous for swimming. The water at Gnarabup is calmer because of rocks and reefs that protect the bay from the big ocean waves.[1]
The beach has a jetty (a long wooden pier) for fishing and launching boats. In the summer, people often use a pontoon (a floating platform) in the water. A famous cafe called the White Elephant Beach Cafe is right by the sand, a great place to get a coffee or food.
Geography
Gnarabup is a great place to stay while exploring the whole Margaret River Region. It is a short drive to the town of Margaret River, which is famous for its food and wine.
It is close to Surfers Point, where a big professional surfing competition is held every year. The area is part of the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park, which has many places for bushwalking and amazing limestone caves to explore.
