The Fall of the Fascist regime in Italy was a series of events from 1943-1945. The events happened after the Sicilian invasion of 1943, when a joint Anglo–American army invaded Sicily from Italy, nicknamed Operation Husky.[1] On 24–25 July 1943, a coup d'état named 25 Luglio successfully had the dictator Benito Mussolini removed from his Prime Minister position and arrested by King Victor Emmanuel III.
