Narre Warren station (pronounced Nar-ry Worr-an) is a railway station in Myki zone 2, located in Narre Warren, Melbourne, Victoria. The city of Melbourne is in Australia. The station is on the Pakenham line,[4][5][6] part of the Melbourne suburban train network.

History

Narre Warren station opened four years after the railway between Dandenong and Pakenham was built, on 10 March 1882. It was built as a single platform station.[4]

In 1956, a second rail from Dandenong was built, serving the new platform 2. In 1962, the new rail from Dandenong was extended to Berwick.[4]

In October 2004, the Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road underpass was built.[4]

In July 2021, The Level Crossing Removal Project proposed a new train station ay Narre Warren. This would move the station to an elevated design, similar to the stations up the line at Carnegie, Murrumbeena, and Hughesdale.[7] The construction started very soon after. The new station opened in March 2024.[8][9]

Platforms

Narre Warren station is an elevated (sky-rail) station. It is brand new. The station features two platforms on the sides. Stairs and lifts lead to the platforms. From there the station is very high. This station is staffed from first train to last train.
