A round kofun

Round Kofun (円墳, Enpun) are a kind of Kofun that has only a round mound and no square segment.[1] There are many types of Kofun including Zenpō-kōen-fun and Zenpō-kōhō-fun and Round Kofun and Square Kofun.[2]

Tsude Hiroshi argues that there is a hierarchy of Zenpō-kōen-fun > Zenpō-kōhō-fun > Round Kofun > Square Kofun that he calls the Kofun system.[2]
