Batman '89 (comic book)

Batman '89 is a superhero comic book limited series published by DC Comics that serves as a continuation of Tim Burton's movies Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992). It explores the adventures of Batman (starring Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne / Batman) and other characters from the movie universe in comic book form, often featuring a darker, noir-inspired tone consistent with the movie's aesthetic, and ignoring the events of Batman Forever (1995) and Batman & Robin (1997). It was launched in August 2021 and ran for six issues. The series includes new stories, character developments, and collaborations with various writers and artists, providing fans with an expanded universe beyond the movies.

A second series, Batman '89: Echoes, was announced by DC Comics on August 17, 2023, along with a November 28, 2023 release date, which also ran for six issues, with the first series retroactively titled Batman '89: Shadows.
