WrestleDream was a professional wrestling pay-per-view show made by All Elite Wrestling (AEW). It took place on October 12, 2024 at Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington. It was the second WrestleDream event held by AEW.
The main event saw Jon Moxley defeat Bryan Danielson to win the AEW World Championship. Moxley hit Danielson with a piledriver and applied a sleeper hold to make him pass out for the win by technical submission. On the August 28, 2024 episode of Dynamite, Danielson announced that if he had lost the AEW Championship, then he was going to retire from full-time in-ring competition.[1] After his loss at WrestleDream, Danielson was attacked by the rest of the Blackpool Combat Club and they suffocated him with a plastic bag, effectively writing him off television and ending his full-time career.[2]
Other notable matches included Konosuke Takeshita defeating Will Ospreay and Ricochet in a three-way match to win the AEW International Championship.
The event also saw the returns of Adam Cole, MJF, and Swerve Strickland.
