Pseudopaludicola jaredi is a frog. It lives in Brazil.[1][2][3]
Body
The adult male frog is about 14.5 - 16.3 mm long from nose to rear end and the adult female frog is about 14.3 - 16.2 mm long.[4]
Name
Scientists named this frog for an amphibian scientist named Carlos Alberto Goncalves Silva Jared who worked in Brazil.[4]
Home
This frog lives in Cerrado, Caatinga, and Atlantic forest placess, in grassy places, dry forests, and places with small, woody plants. It is awake at night. It is good at living in places that human beings have changed; people see it on farms. Scientists have seen it between 51 and 700 m (167 and 2,297 ft) above sea level.[1]
There are protected places where the frog lives: Área de Preservação Ambiental Serra da Ibiapaba and Floresta Nacional de Nisia Floresta.[1]
Young
The male frogs call to the females together. The male frog holds on to the female frog as she lays her eggs in water. The tadpoles swim in the water.[1] The tadpoles have an oval-shaped face when looked at from the top. The nostrils are nearer to the eyes than to the end of the nose. The belly is clear.[4]
Danger
Scientists from the IUCN say this frog is not in danger of dying out.[1]
