Jovo Lukić (Serbian Cyrillic: Јово Лукић; born 28 November 1998) is a professional footballer. He plays as a forward for Liga I club Universitatea Cluj. Born in Serbia, he plays for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.
Lukić started his professional career at Sloga Doboj,[4] where he made his debut against Sutjeska Foča on 6 August 2016, at the age of 17.[5] In February 2018, he joined Krupa,[6] before being loaned to Zvijezda Gradačac a year later.[7] In June 2020, he signed for Borac Banja Luka.[8] After four years at Borac Banja Luka, he signed for Romanian club Universitatea Craiova in September 2024.[9] A year later, he joined Universitatea Cluj.[10]
Lukić made his debut for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team in December 2021, during a 1–0 friendly loss against the United States. He would not return to the national team again until March 2026, when he was called up by manager Sergej Barbarez for the European second round of 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification. However, he did not play because of an arm injury.[11] In June 2026, he was included in Bosnia and Herzegovina's squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.[12] His first goal for Bosnia and Herzegovina was scored during the World Cup, in a 1–1 draw against Canada.[13]
Early and personal life
Joko and his family are ethnic Serbs,[14] who are from Modriča, Bosnia and Herzegovina. However, he was born in Šabac, FR Yugoslavia (part of present-day Serbia).[1][2]
Lukić married his long-time girlfriend Zorana in 2021. They have a son together.[15]
His father Mitar was also a professional footballer.[16]
