Daytime or day is the period when the Sun is above the horizon, from dawn to dusk.

In the clock, it's the period from dawn to dusk.[1]

The opposite of daytime is nighttime. The length of daytime varies, being 12 hours on the summer and winter solstices. However, the length of a day and night always add up to 24 hours.[2]
