He was a member of the United States House of Representatives from Florida's 15th congressional district from 1995 to 2009.[1] He unsuccessfully ran for the U.S. Senate in 2012. He later unsuccessfully ran for the Florida House of Representatives in 2024.
In 2017, he became the president of the Alliance of Health Care Sharing Ministries, a trade group for Christian organizations.
Weldon has supported the scientifically untrue claim that vaccines cause autism.[2]
