William Joseph Posey (/ˈpoʊzi/ POH-zee; December 18, 1947 – May 9, 2026) was an American businessman and politician who was the U.S. representative for Florida's 8th congressional district from 2009 to 2025. He was a member of the Republican Party. Before, he was a member of the Florida Senate and the Florida House of Representatives. Posey did not run for reelection to the U.S. House in 2024.[1]

Posey died on May 9, 2026 at a hospital in Melbourne, Florida at the age of 78.[2]
