The Boullanger Island dunnart (Sminthopsis boullangerensis) is a small marsupial that lives only on Boullanger Island in Western Australia.[2] It used to be thought of as a type of grey-bellied dunnart (S. griseoventer), but new studies have shown it to a separate sub-species.[3] It was not separately evaluated by the IUCN in 2008, but it was listed as critically endangered in 1996. The Australian government now classifies the Boullanger Island dunnart as vulnerable, meaning it is at risk but not yet endangered.
