Young Oak Kim (née Choe; born October 18, 1962) is a South Korean-born American Republican politician. She is a member of the United States House of Representatives from California since 2021.
Kim was first elected to Congress in 2020, beating Democratic incumbent Gil Cisneros in a rematch.[1]
In the 2020 United States House of Representatives elections, Kim, Michelle Steel, and Marilyn Strickland became the first Korean-American women elected to the United States Congress. Along with Steel and David Valadao, Kim was among the first three Republican candidates to beat an incumbent House Democrat in California since 1994.
