WUSA (film)

WUSA is a 1970 American movie directed by Stuart Rosenberg and written by Robert Stone, based on his 1967 book A Hall of Mirrors. It is a retrospective movie about society as reflected in the beginning of the 1970s in the deep south of the USA.[1] Paul Newman plays a down and out 'communicator' who has landed in New Orleans, in search of an old friend, who just happens to owe him $100. The friend just happens to run a soup kitchen, and does not have $100 that he owes the lead character. Our hero happens to be a disc jockey and seeks one of the radio stations in town, at the recommendation of his friend. That stations' call letters are "WUSA".
