Tchéky Karyo (fr; born Baruh Djaki Karyo; 4 October 1953 – 31 October 2025) was a Turkish-born French actor and musician. He was nominated for a César Award for his role in the 1982 movie La Balance. Karyo was born in Istanbul, Turkey. He was raised in Paris, France.

Karyo also appeared in La Femme Nikita, Vincent and Me, Nostradamus, Crying Freeman, Bad Boys, GoldenEye, The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc, The Patriot and Kiss of the Dragon. He also played French detective Julien Baptiste in the BBC crime drama The Missing, and its spin-off series Baptiste (2019–21).

Karyo died on 31 October 2025 in Brittany, France from cancer at the age of 72.[1]
