Schlagenheim is the first studio album by Black Midi. Black Midi were an English experimental rock band. Rough Trade Records released the album on 21 June 2019. It is the band's only album with guitar player Matt Kwasniewski-Kelvin. The band recorded the music for the album in November 2018. They made the songs by playing music in jam sessions. They used parts of the sessions that they liked and used them to make songs.[1]

The music on Schlagenheim is dfferent from normal rock music. The band used many musical instruments, such as accordions and drum machines, to make it sound different. The music has complex time signatures and changes speed many times.[2] Music critics have called it math rock, noise rock, and experimental rock.[3][4] Schlagenheim was in the top 50 on the UK Albums Chart, and got a nomination for the 2019 Mercury Prize.[5][6]
