Rother FM was a local radio station that served Rotherham and nearby parts of the Dearne Valley in South Yorkshire, England. It began broadcasting on 15 October 2006.[1]
The station played adult contemporary music and broadcast local news, travel, and community information.[2] The studios were based in Doncaster Road, Rotherham.
In 2020, Bauer Media made changes to many local stations, including Rother FM. On 1 September 2020, the station stopped broadcasting and became part of Greatest Hits Radio South Yorkshire.[3]
History
Rother FM was created by Lincs FM Group as a new local station for the Rotherham area. During its early years, the station focused on local events and community news. It was later bought by Bauer Media in 2019.[4]
In May 2020, Bauer announced that Rother FM would be rebranded as Greatest Hits Radio. This change was completed in September 2020.[5]
