Proceratophrys mantiqueira is a frog. It lives in Brazil.[2][3][1]
Body
The adult male frog is 28.4-42.5 mm long from nose to rear end, and the adult female frog 36.3-54.3 mm long. This frog does not have a crest before its eyes.[4]
Name
Home
This frog lives in forests where the tree branches come together like a roof. Scientists saw it on the dead leaves on the ground near streams. Scientists saw the frog between 600 and 1800 meters above sea level.[1]
Scientists found the frog in two protected parks, Parque National de Itatiaia and Parque Estadual da Serra do Brigadeiro.[1]
Young
The female frog puts her eggs in small streams that are not there all year. The tadpoles swim and grow there.[1]
Danger
Scientists from the IUCN say this frog is not in danger of dying out. Human beings used to dig in the ground for good rocks and metal for a long time, and they cut down many trees to make farms, but the forests that are there now are mostly in protected parks on mountains. Outside these parks, human beings cut down forests to make farms, tree farms, and places for animals to eat grass.[1]
