Physalaemus claptoni is a frog. It lives in Brazil.[1][2][3]
Home
Scientists saw this frog in exactly one place: a grassy place in Brazil's Cerrado. It is on a steep hill about 1,321 m (4,334 ft) above sea level. The place where scientists found the frog is not protected. There is a protected place nearby: Parque Estadual Serra Do Intendente. But this place only has a few parts where the frog would be able to live.[3]
Young
The male frogs sit in grass. The frogs lay eggs in small pools of water. Scientists think that this frog has young the same way that other frogs in Physalaemus have young: The adult lays eggs in a nest made out of bubbles and the tadpoles swim in the water after they hatch.[3]
Danger
Scientists from the IUCN say they do not know if the frog is in danger of dying out. The scientists found the frog in a place where people let animals eat grass. Sometimes people set fires to keep the grass good. There are forests and some tree farms nearby. Because the mountain is so steep, scientists do not think people will build more farms or tree farms there.[3]
