London Aquatics Centre

The London Aquatics Centre is a sports centre in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, East London. It was one of the main places for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The building was designed by the architect Zaha Hadid.
During the 2012 Games the centre could hold about 17,500 people. After the Games the two temporary wings used for seating were removed. The normal capacity was then changed to about 2,500 people, with space for 1,000 extra seats when needed.[1] The nearby Water Polo Arena was also taken down after the Games.
The centre was changed for public use and opened to local people on March 1st, 2014.[2] Today it is used by local swimmers and for other sports events. It hosted international diving events such as the FINA Diving World Series in 2014 and 2019.
