The turbo white-lipped frog (Leptodactylus poecilochilus) is a frog. It lives in Venezuela, Colombia, Panama, and Costa Rica.[2][3][1]

Body

The adult male frog is 33 to 49 mm long from nose to rear end and the adult female frog is 32 to 50 mm long. The head is longer than it is wide. There is some folded skin on the back. The skin of the frog's back is brown-gray in color with spots or stripes. There is a light stripe in the middle of the back. Sometimes there is dark color on the chin. The backs of the back legs have stripes. There is a long white stripe on the higher part of the hind legs. The belly is white in color. The male frog's voice skin is black. The iris of the eye is gold in color.[3]

Home

This frog is awake at night. It lives grassy places, swamps, other watery places, and sometimes forests and towns. This frog is good at living in places that human beings have changed. Scientists saw the frog between 3 and 1150 meters above sea level.[3][1]

Scientists saw the frog in protected places.[1]

Young

This frog has many young at one time. The female frog puts eggs in ponds.[1] The tadpoles can grow as long as 40 mm. The mouth is on the bottom of the body. The body does not have the same color everywhere: There is darker color on the back and lighter color on the belly. There are spots on the tail.[3]

Scientists from the IUCN say this frog is not in danger of dying out.[1]
