Lancashire men's cricket team

The Lancashire men's cricket team is based in Manchester. It represents the traditional English county of Lancashire. Teams called Lancashire have been active since 1849. Until 1864, the county name was used solely by the Manchester Cricket Club for their matches against county teams, including Yorkshire. Lancashire County Cricket Club was formed in 1864 to take responsibility for organisation of the county team. Lancashire have played in the County Championship since 1890, and have won the title eight times, most recently in 2011.[1] Their main home venue is Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester. Many great players have represented Lancashire, including Dick Barlow, Albert Hornby, Allan Steel, Dick Pilling, Archie MacLaren, Johnny Briggs, Johnny Tyldesley, Ted McDonald, George Duckworth, Cyril Washbrook, Brian Statham, Clive Lloyd, Farokh Engineer, Wasim Akram, Andrew Flintoff, and James Anderson.[2]
