Kosakenland, was a semi-independent military government located in northern Italy during World War II and the Italian campaign that existed from July 1944 to May 1945, the area was composed of local Italians and Frisians, and Circassians and Cossacks who were pro-Germany. Kosakenland was involved in operations against local Italian partisans until the end of the War in Europe in May 1945.
