Karl Tekusch ( * 7 July 1890 in Vienna, † 28 December 1977 in Vienna) was an Austrian football player and high school teacher for German and French.
Career
Like his older brother Felix Tekusch Karl Tekusch began playing in a school team coached by Johann Studnicka. Then he played for Wiener AC. He soon became part of what was probably the strongest Austrian team of the time. A highlight was a 2-1 victory over the then three-time English champions Sunderland. Karl Tekusch had made his debut for the Austrian national team against Hungary on 1 November 1908. From 1910 onwards, he was usually called up along with his brother Felix.
Disputes with the club's management caused the Tekusch brothers, along with several teammates, to found a new club. The new club (Wiener AF) was founding member of the Austrian Bundesliga. Karl Tekusch achieved his greatest success at club level by winning the Austrian championship in 1913/14 with WAF. The midfielder remained active for club and national team until shortly after the First World War.
