Karl Schott (* 11 August 1906 in Vienna; † 18 July 1985 in Vienna) was an Austrian football player.

Career

Schott's first club was the fourth-division Stammersdorf. In 1925 he was transferred to SK Admira Wien. His debut for the first team was on the final matchday of the 1924/25 season. By the following season, he had already secured a regular starting position as a left wing-back, a role he would maintain throughout Admira's successful 1920s. In 1927 the club secured their first league title in its history. Schott was one of three players to feature in every single Admira match. The following season, the team dended their title. They also won the Austrian Cup (ÖFB-Cup) with a 2-1 victory against Wiener AC and reached the Mitropa Cup semi-finals.

Three consecutive runner-up finishes followed before Schott left the club in 1931 and joined Brigittenauer AC, who had just been promoted to the top division. After just one season, he moved again, this time to another newly promoted first-division team, FC Libertas Wien, with whom he also managed to stay in the league. Schott then transferred to French second-division side FC Mulhouse, where he achieved promotion to Division 1 He played there until 1935.

International

He made his debut for the national team in November 1927 in a 0-1 defeat against Italy. For the next two years he was a regular starter in midfield before losing his place to Johann Luef. He would only wear the national team jersey once more, in the Nations Cup match against Italy in February 1931. In total, he made ten appearances for Austria.
