John Spinks (musician)

John Spinks (28 November 1953 − 9 July 2014) was an English musician and songwriter. He was the lead guitarist and songwriter of the Outfield. Spinks was born in the East End of London. When he was young, he wanted to write songs and would pretend using a tennis racket as a makeshift guitar. Spinks was inspired by The Beatles, focusing on melody and vocal harmony which was perfected when combined with Tony Lewis's voice. He loved music and his family and always fought hard for what he believed in. In 2014, after a long battle with cancer, Spinks passed away aged 60.[1]
