Joaquín Guzmán López (born 16 July 1986), better known as El Güero Moreno, is a Mexican former drug lord and former high-ranking member of the Sinaloa Cartel, a criminal group based in Sinaloa.[1][2] He is the son of Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán, Mexico's most powerful drug lord. López is suspected of being a leader within a Sinaloa Cartel faction often referred to as Los Chapitos.
On 25 July 2024, in El Paso, Texas,[3] López was arrested by the U.S. authorities along with the Sinaloa Cartel's co-leader Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada.[4][5]
