James Rupert Jacob Murdoch (born 13 December 1972) is an American-British businessman. From 2015 to 2019, he served as CEO of 21st Century Fox; he is currently a board member of American automotive company Tesla, Inc.
Early life
Murdoch was born in London on 13th December 1972 to Australian media tycoon Rupert Murdoch and Scottish journalist Anna Murdoch (née Torv, later dePeyster).[1] He is the younger brother of Lachlan and Elisabeth and half-brother of Prudence, Grace and Chloe.
At age 13, young James' citizenship changed. In 1985, his father gave up his Australian citizenship to become a citizen of the United States.[2]
Career
He has worked in his family's international businesses. He was CEO of 21st Century Fox from 2015 to 2019 and until 2012, was CEO of Sky plc.
