"I love you, California" is the state song of California.
The lyrics were written in 1913 by Francis Beatty Silverwood, and the music was composed by Abraham Franklin Frankenstein in the same year. The song was first performed by Mary Garden in 1915 on the first ship to pass through the Panama Canal. The song was adopted by California's legislature in 1951, and the song got statutory recognition in 1988 after the copyright had expired.[1]
