Eridu Genesis
The Eridu Genesis are three tablets that explain how the first cities were made in Mesopotamia, how the main Mesopotamian government was created, and the flood that was sent down to destroy humanity.[1]
Synopsis
The first tablet was discovered in 1893, and talks about the creation of humans, how Nintur calls down the humans to create civilization, and how they are in a state of unrest, and can't decide where to stay.[1] The second tablet talks about how they have finally decided where to build civilization, and made Eridu, Bad-tibira, Larak, Sippar and Shuruppak. [1]The final tablet discusses how Enlil was annoyed by the sounds the humans kept making, and decided to send down a flood to destroy all of humanity. However, Enki tells Ziusudra, a priest, to build a boat to save himself, and one of every living creature. He is able to make the boat and save every living creature just in time for the flood to be sent down. [1]
