The El Paso Chihuahuas are a Minor League Baseball team from El Paso, Texas.[1] They play baseball at the Triple-A (AAA) level, the most difficult level before Major League Baseball, against other baseball teams in the Pacific Coast League (a group of 10 baseball teams at the same level).[1] The Chihuahuas are partnered with the San Diego Padres, a Major League Baseball team. When a player shows that he plays well at this level, he may be moved up to play for the Padres.
The team is called Chihuahuas because the area is surrounded by the Chihuahuan Desert. Their logo is a growling chihuahua dog.
The Chihuahuas have played at a stadium called Southwest University Park since 2014.
