Edward Capehart O'Kelley

The man who killed Robert Ford, "The man who killed Jesse James". Ford had settled in Creede, Colorado during the silver rush and was the proprietor of a tent saloon. On June 8, 1892, O'Kelley entered Ford's saloon with a double barreled shotgun. He said "Hello Bob". When Ford turned to see who it was, O'Kelley shot Ford in the neck, killing him instantly.

O'Kelley then became known as "the man who killed the man who killed Jesse James". He was sentenced to life in prison, but was released after nine years in October, 1902 for medical reasons. O'Kelley was killed January 13, 1904 while trying to shoot a policeman. [1]
