  • The titular character from the novel Old Yeller is a Black Mouth Cur.
  • In the Kid vs. Kat episode Dog We Trust, Bruiser is a German Shepherd/Rottweiler/Australian Shepherd mix that Coop Burtonburger adopts as his dog to scare Kat, the main antagonist, away. Bruiser looks more like a Black Mouth Cur rather than a shepherd or Rottweiler.
