Bengal is a region in the Indian subcontinent that is split between two countries - Bangladesh and India. The parts were united in British India. Today, West Bengal is part of India. East Bengal became part of Pakistan, but now is Bangladesh. Bengal contains the Ganges Delta, the largest river delta in the world.
