Attraction to transgender people

Attraction to transgender people is something that has been studied by scientists and talked about by media. Psychologists have studied sexual attraction toward trans women, trans men, cross-dressers, non-binary people, and any combination of these. Research papers that talk about transgender studies have looked at the attraction transgender people can feel for each other. The people who feel this attraction to transgender people name their attraction in different ways.

Words and phrases (or terminology)

Some words or phrases can talk about people who are attracted to transgender people. Some of those words are: trans-attracted,[1] transamorous,[2][3] trans-oriented,[1] transfan,[4] trans admirer,[1] and trans catcher.[4] The words transromantic, transamorous and transsensual exist, but are not used much.[5]

The phrases tranny chaser[5][4] (often shortened to chaser)[1] and tranny hawk[4] have been used, however, tranny is considered a bad word or a slur by many.[6][7] The word chaser is often used to describe cisgender men who are only sexually interested in trans women.[1] However, the word is sometimes used about others, such as cisgender women and/or those interested in trans men.[5][1][5][8][5]

Other information

Cisgender men attracted to trans women mainly have a sexual orientation that is heterosexual if they are only attracted to girls and/or femininity.
