Ainame Festival

The Ainame Festival (相嘗祭, Ainame-no-Matsuri)[a] is a Shinto festival. It is similar to the Niiname-no-Matsuri festival.[1]

The festival used to be very important, but people got it confused with Niiname-no-Matsuri so it was forgotten. It is still celebrated at Kamigamo Shrine today on November 13.[2]
