On 23 June 2025, Iran struck a United States military base in Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar to retaliate the United States' attacks on Iranian nuclear sites just a day before.[4][5] The attack was begun at approximately 19:39 according to Arabia Standard Time. This was the second time Iran struck a US military base since 2020.[6] The codename of this attack was Operation Glad Tidings of Victory,[7] a US military base in Iraq was also attacked.[8]

Background

The strikes happened during the Iran–Israel war, which both countries have attacked each others by using modern weapons like UAVs and ballistic missiles. It began on 13 June 2025 in a surprise attack made by Israel to attack Iran's nuclear sites because Israel fears that it would eventually be a massive threat if Iran have nuclear bombs.

The strikes took place after Qatar had closed its airspace. The United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Iraq also closed their airspaces following the attacks.
