General elections were held in Honduras on 30 November 2025.[1] Voters elected the President, all 128 members of the National Congress, and 20 representatives to the Central American Parliament.

Three major candidates are running for president: former Defense Minister Rixi Moncada for the Liberty and Refoundation Party, former Vice President Salvador Nasralla for the Liberal Party and former Tegucigalpa Mayor Nasry Asfura for the National Party.[2]

The election became heavily watched when U.S. President Donald Trump tried to influence the election in favor of Nasry Asfura after he publicly supported him. Trump has said that the United States would not give any financial aid to Honduras if Asfura does not win.[3] Trump has also promised to pardon former President Juan Orlando Hernández, who was serving a 45-year prison sentence in the United States for drug trafficking.[4] Hernández was released from prison on 2 December 2025.[5]

On 24 December 2025, Asfura was announced the winner of the presidential election. Asfura wrote on social media: "Honduras: I am ready to govern. I will not let you down."[6]
